This week while I was watching a presentation in my English class some classmates shared the experience of traveling and not pay the hotel staying at the home of people who volunteer to receive them. Even the teacher said she never pays hotel anymore after found out this kind of "service".
It looks like normal for most people here, but for me and many other Brazilians it is something strange and risky.
As a matter of safety we learn early on not to talk to strangers, not to get into unknown car, not to accept drinks from anyone... imagine what our parents would think if we said that we would stay in the house of someone we never saw in life!!! It would be a scandal of those !!!! :):):) same ... I do not see myself staying in the house of anyone I do not know. To tell the truth is hard enough for me staying in the house of anyone I know, imagine if I do not know!!! no chance!!!
But there is a Brazilian popular saying "who do not have a dog hunt with a cat", so maybe some of you guys are so tight that to stay in the house of a stranger is not such a bad idea, since many people do this and the experience can be amazing!!!
It may be a good idea. However, I, Renata, still have no courage. My head is still very Brazilian and can not accept these kind of modernities, but it is a common practice for many people out here, so ...
